The government has appointed Md Rashed Khan as Political Assistant to the Prime Minister on a contractual basis with the status of a secretary.

The appointment was announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday.

According to the notification, Rashed has been appointed on the condition that he severs all ties with any other profession, business, or government, semi-government or private institution or organisation.

He will serve as the PM's Political Assistant from the date of joining until the PM's tenure ends or until the PM withdraws consent for his appointment, whichever comes first.

The notification added that the remaining terms and conditions of his appointment will be specified in the contract.
