Hockey team beat Thailand to finish 7th in Asian Games

Bangladesh finished their Asian Games men's hockey campaign in seventh place after beating Thailand 3-0 in the place-deciding match held at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan today.

Bangladesh took the lead in the third minute when Roman Sarker found the net, giving Peter Gerhard's side a 1-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Bangladesh continued to dominate and doubled the lead in the 27th minute through Amirul Islam, who converted a penalty corner.

Ashraful Islam sealed the victory in the 53rd minute, scoring from a penalty stroke to make it 3-0.

Thailand failed to find a way back into the match as Bangladesh held on to secure a comfortable victory and finish seventh in the tournament.

With the win, Bangladesh ended their Asian Games hockey campaign on a winning note.
