National Citizen Party chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary allegedly came under attack at the Lalon Shain shrine area on Sunday evening, party members have claimed.

A video showing rocks and bricks being hurled at his car has gone viral on social media.

The video shows a man hurling a brick on Patwary’s car, with a portion of the front windshield broken.

Others appear to surround the car. The car then drives away from the spot. Daily Waadaa could not independently verify the footage.

Another video shows a group of men chasing Patwary and his party members.

The attack happened when Patwary and his associates were leaving the area after hearing some Lalon songs around 7:30pm.

NCP Joint Member Secretary Tareq Reza in a Facebook post alleged that BNP activists carried out the attack.

“After Jhenaidah and Habiganj, Nasiruddin Patwary bhai has now been attacked by BNP men in Kushtia,” Tareq wrote.

Police from Kumarkhali police station went to the spot after being informed and took Patwary and his associates to the police station.

Earlier in May, Patwary’s convoy came under attack in Jhenaidah Municipal Collectorate Mosque in the old DC Court area.

NCP leaders at the time alleged that activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal were involved in the attack.
